SYNOT Day 2018 once again welcomes plenty of visitors, including Czech government representatives
The stylish Grandhotel Tatra once again became the venue of this annual event. Almost 200 visitors from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Serbia, Macedonia but also several other countries enjoyed a number of presentations, most of which tackled the burning issue of the new Czech gambling legislation and its outcomes.
How to survive in a highly regulated market? Is tightening the legislation actually reducing the number of compulsive gamblers or, the opposite, increasing the number of illegal operations?
Some interesting viewpoints were offered from both sides of the barricade.
Mr. Peter Mikoška, Executive Director of SYNOT TIP of the Czech Republic suggested, that an increasing number of illegal operations and so called „quiz machines“ are the outcomes of the restrictions and a lot of small operators and pub owners are struggling to make ends meet as a result.
More insights and interesting statistics were presented by the Ministry of Finance, the Customs Administration of the Czech Republic and a law firm were presented. While a lot has been done to limit addictive behaviors, there is still a long journey to find the golden mean and a way to support healthy, fun entertainment that would also bring significant income to the state budget.
On a lighter note, interesting presentations were presented from the online gaming solution provider EASIT, explaining the essence of a true omnichannel platform, as well as from SYNOT Games Product Manager, Matej Sopóci who presented some of our last year’s best creations and summed up achievements of our content division.
Apart from tackling hot topics, the visitors could also enjoy an evening program with performances from singer Markéta Konvičková, fashion show, burlesque show and a bartending show. SYNOT Day has become a tradition that our clients and partners will always look forward to come back to. We hope to see everyone again next time!
